Vinyasa FlowYoga Basics
Introduce those with little or no yoga experience to the fundamentals of yoga asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing). Special emphasis is placed on mastering basic yoga poses, developing correct form and alignment, and increasing students overall understanding of the essential language and forms of yoga.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga combines different yoga postures (asanas) with dynamic movement, specific breath patterns (pranayam), chanting (mantras), and meditation to tap into the life energy (Kundalini) stored in your body. There are hundreds of Kriyas or sets, combining these different parts that work on specific and varied things; one Kriya may work on strengthening the immune system, another on the digestive system, another on releasing inner anger, etc. Though open to all levels, it can be rather physically and mentally challenging. It has been known to awaken inner strength and enhance the relationship among body, mind, and universal self. Activating the Kundalini energy can result in profound calmness and self awareness, in addition to the ability of tapping into creativity and intuition.
Pilates Integration
Pilates balance is a hybrid fitness program influenced by the principals upon which Pilates was built (stabilization, precision, fluidity, and control). It blends together elements of strength and functional training, deep stretching, and Pilates-style exercises. This one-hour class is an effective and challenging way to condition the entire body. Using focus and precision, the workout ensures muscles are isolated and strengthened. The exercises flow effortlessly from one into another by using fluid and athletic movements.
Motion
This energetic and uplifting class is a fluid blend of Ballet and Jazz-inspired stretches and exercises that are practiced daily by dancers to strengthen the entire body. These movements also help to lengthen and shape the muscles while increasing heart rate and improving posture and flexibility.
This style of yoga involves a flowing sequence of various yoga postures, with a focus on combining breath with movement. Students will learn to refine postures and connect the body and mind. The heat-building movement increases flexibility, concentration, and endurance, while emphasizing core strength, enhancing balance, and being aware of one's breath. Classes close with meditation and deep relaxation. Open to all levels.
Yoga For Lunch
A great class to slip into during lunch time. Condensed into a 45-minute Vinyasa flow, this class involves a vigorous sequence that emphasizes the connection between breath and movement. A great workout, both physically and mentally, before heading back to the office.
